Wine
Oakridge 864 Syrah is drawn from the Oakridge Vineyard's close planted Winery Block in the Yarra Valley. It is made in small quantities and released only in the best years.
Syrah (Shiraz) grapes are handpicked and sorted. Most of the fruit is destemmed and placed on top of the remaining whole bunch fruit. After three days of cold maceration, fermentation is left to begin naturally.
The fermenting juice sees regular pump overs and plunging. Post ferment, the wine is pressed to French oak barrels for maturation.
Vibrant purple, Oakridge 864 Syrah is a rich, textural wine with pure fruit flavours, long chains of plush tannins and soft acidity. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
